Atlantis defeated Spice Island by 5 wickets to go 4-0 for the 2019 Season.
Atlantis Cricket Club – NY defeated Spice Island Sports Club by five wickets on June 6, 2019, at Marine Park, Brooklyn, NY. Atlantis won the toss and offered the first strike to Spice Island who scored 150 all out in 39.3 overs.
Spice Island was off to a rocky start losing their first three wickets with less than 10 runs on the tins. A fifth-wicket partnership of 61 between Micah Narine, 54 and Andre Baptiste, 23 temporarily halted the hemorrhaging of wickets, before Atlantis struck again one run later. There was a brief respite as Spice Island added another 79 runs with some help from Troy Baptiste, 34 and the final five outs at 150, including 18 extras. The Atlantis wickets were shared equally among six bowlers with Joseph Brown snatching two wickets, while there were two run-outs and Oshane Walters a no-show. The Spice Island wickets fell at 3, 6, 9, 70, 71, 103, 129, 127, 150 and 150.
Atlantis in return reached 151 for 5 in 29.1 overs and the victory. Top scorers for Atlantis were Winston Forrester, 55, Treo Forde, 30 not out, Aaron Jones 14 and Trinson Carmichael and Keon Lake chipping in with 11 runs each. The latter was not out on 11 off 11 deliveries at the tape.
Bowling for Spice Island, Clevron Alexander grabbed 2 for 24, with three other Spice Island bowlers each snaring a wicket apiece. The Atlantis wickets fell at 5, 36, 51, 72 and 120.
